My hardtop is 20 years old but it still looks pretty good. There is little chipping and such, but I want to paint it an eggshell black to match all of my Powdercoated stainless and give it a fresh look.
I just painted mine last month.. First I cleaned it with dish detergent and water. Then I used scotch bright pads to scuff the surface up real good. Then I went over it several times with a wax and grease remover. To paint it... I bought a quart of SEM from my local auto paint store. It is basically a bumper/trim paint. It turned out great.. it has a nice matte finish to it.
yeah i sanded mine down really well and then painted it with Rustoleum gloss enamel. Looks REALLY good. I'll post some pics soon, i just painted two days ago!
Dude, that light bar on the hood is killer! Care to elaborate?
