With a 1.8cfm compressor you save exactly one minute filling your first tire with the tank -vs- without (see my geek math above). With a faster (higher cfm) compressor that time savings goes down quite a bit... that's what I was asking... for simply filling tires, is it worth it to add the tank or would you be better off spending the cash on a bigger compressor?

For pure speed I think I might find a used CO2 tank and build my own CO2 system and carry one of those cheap pep-boys compressors as a backup...
I think it is worth it. I have done both. For just filling up tires on your jeep it is fine. But once you have OBA you will not be just filling up your tires. You will be filling up anyone else tire who doesn't have OBA. Trust me on this one. A lot of people rely of the OPOBA (other people's OBA).

When I go out wheeling, I am usually filling up three rigs after mine.

That sucks. I mean if someone needs air who is new, that's fine, but for folks with lifted Jeeps and big tires to ALWAYS rely on you for air, that kind of stinks. i get filled from a friend who is helping me install my own, but I do have a small electric compressor for my lil 31's.

Yeah.. the 10 Cubic Inch York compressor puts out about 4 cfm at just above idle. I think it maxes out at about 8cfm with a little more RPM. I used a 10lb fire extinguisher for my air tank. Works perfect for filling tires and running my air tools..
