Nutserts / rivnuts (removal)

when I google nutserts and rivnuts I get more than enough hits on installation and virtually nothing on removal. Is it just as simple as finding the right sized drill bit to drill them out? Dremel tool? How do you get the back piece out of the hole or do you just let it drop never to be seen or worried about again.

I cut some out with a Dremal tool being careful not to damage or enlarge the existing hole. I ground the flange off enough they could be pushed out.
