need to find winch remote - somewhere between Ohio and Moab on I70

Yeah, I'm leaving Ohio in the morning and towing the YJ to Moab. Last night I was loading the Jeep, and I can't find my winch remote anywhere. Called a shop in town, but they didn't have anything. It's a Road Shock Harbor Freight winch. The usual 3 prong connector on the solenoid box.

I'm sure there will be many winches on the trail, but if anybody knows of a place that sells recovery gear close to I70 between Columbus Ohio and Moab let me know! If you are there in person I will give you a cold Heineken.

Actually, it's pronounced "mill-e-wah-que" which is Algonquin for "the good land."

If you are in a bind, stop by a hardware store and get a spdt switch and some wire and make one. Just wire the switch to the connector with some spade terminals, and it should work fine

I assume the remote is the female end of things, like it is on my MM.

You can activate the winch with a nice wide screw driver or a chisel. Connect A and B it spools forward. A and C and it goes back. Of course, I am just making up the AB&C. You will have to experiment with it. Don't get your necktie caught in it while you are bending over to activate it. I assume you will be dressing for Moab?

Get a momentary on/off/momentary on switch and some wire to emulate this one

Rather than ask here for a place, call Warn and fine a dealer along your route.

Thanks for all of the helpful tips guys! I am back from Moab, I didn't need the winch The speedo quit on my truck so I will fix that and then figure out the winch remote issue.

Thanks again!

BTW I did pass through Denver, after being in the craziest ice storm I've ever seen! Semis jacknifed everywhere, pickup trucks flipped etc.
