mods to seat brackets
I recently purchased a set of APC Racing Seats really cheap for my 95 yj and mounted the pass side and noticed that it is just too high. My feet almost dangle above the floorboard! Without tilt, I don't think I would be able to drive with my knees so close to the wheel.
I was thinking about making all new mounts, but thought it may be easier to just modify the existing ones if possible. I searched a lot on here and a couple other fourms..... not much luck.... Anyone have a similar problem? should I chop and re-weld the stock mounts? Thanks for your advice in advance.

I bought some new seats on Christmas Eve. I'm just going to make my own mounting plates for my seats.

Rodeo....
What do you have planned for the new mounting plates? I have been thinking of doing that as well. |

Same problem for me with the Bestop TrailMax seats. I removed the slider and mounted the seat directly on the bracket. This lowered the seat 1 inch. But you will not be able to slide the seat forward.
Edit: Wife got in my jeep and could not reach the pedals. Got mad at me. I took the seat to an upholstry shop and had them cut out 1.5 inches of padding off the bottom of the seat. Now I can put my sliders back on.

I'm looking at getting some 1/4" to 3/8" sheet metal and forming thim to the old mounting points on my new seats. I'll be doing a write-up on it a little later.
