I finally decided I'm going this route aswell. Starting with the 12" tires on the HF micro trailer. I just made a trade for some stock TJ wheels with tires so a new axle is all I will need to make the swap. When I'm ready to swap the axle the 12" tires will go in my little row boat trailer. So excited to get started.

Excellent! Be sure and post your progress here so we can follow along. And pictures too please!

What size tires did you get with your stock TJ wheels? I've got 205/75/15" tires on my trailer, and I've got like 3" more clearance under the trailer's axle than I do with the 33" tires on my TJ's Dana 44 rear.

Yes it did ==give or take a little. Bought a jigsaw and started to go to work.

You need to upload to photobucket or another photo program and then copy and paste the image codes into your post

Or after so many posts, you can directly post pics. I can't recall how many it is though.

Took me 3 weekends to put thus together, ordered the alco 2000lb axle to fit my 5-4.5 wheels that I have not yet put on, trying to find tires on CL. I'm definitely going to extend the tongue a bit. I'm thinking about getting a set of 17' rubicon wheels and tires to match my JK but then I would have to add adapters or order another axle to fit 5 on 5's. I bed lined the frame today, will add pics tomorrow.

75kernal: Very cool! Give us some more info on the axle and tires you've got on it (measurements, sizes, prices, etc.).

not "axle"...."hubs"!!!
as soon as you can determine by either bearing part # (starting with 'LM) axle diameter (1" or 1 and 1/16" ) or look it up/call mfgr, determine axle bearing diameter. Cold beer sez it's 1 1/16. That is standard on axles up to 2000# as is 5 on 4 1/2.
5 on 5 wheels and hubs come on 3500# axles. Hubs use 1 3/8 inner (big) and 1 1/16 outer (small ) bearing. These will NOT work on 2000# axle.
Outside of having a custom-made very narrow 3500# axle/hub assy made, if you wanna use Rubi 5 on 5, look at adapter/spacers.
