Mercedes latest off roader ... future Jeep?

"The smart forfun2 (pronounced smart forfun squared), a smart forfour with monster truck ambitions, causes quite a stir wherever it goes. Stefan Attart, Greek champion in 4x4 rally races, decided to build the vehicle, and scouted in the Mercedes-Benz family looking for an off-road vehicle to be the base—and the smart forfun2 was based on a Mercedes-Benz Unimog 406 series. The six-cylinder diesel engine and transmission were adopted from the Unimog. The tires are on 26-inch rims, and the smartforfun2's ground clearance is 26 inches, with an overall height of more than 12 feet. The smart has manually controlled air suspension, a particular advantage on extreme downhill gradients. Some may find the forfun2 to be too radical, and others will love it. Attart expects the reactions to be polarized with few indifferent to the vehicle. "Running apart from the herd is probably the best prerequisite for achieving cult status," he said."

Mercedes G-class is the stuff. No, not the type 50 cent rolls around in. I'm talking about the original Gaelenwagen, short wheelbase, with diesel motor. lockers front/back stock. One of the best approach/departure angles. That thing ROCKS!
