Just got my superwinch epi9 instal tips.

Just got my superwinch synthetic epi9 with the rokmen winch plate, will be installing on my stock front bumper. Wondering if yall guys have any installation tips. Where did yall guys run the wires? Im going to spray the winch plate flat black. Seems like the best way to spool the line is to winch the jeep at an incline so the line will be taught. Also I was reading in the manual to thread the line through the hole in the drum and tape around 8 inches horizontally on the drum. Is this what ya'll did? Thanks

Install is a piece of cake. I ran my wires under the grill next to the fender and then along the fender to the firewall and around the battery to the front of the battery. I slipped some plastic "robot arm" wire protector sleeves over the wires where they run under the grill so they would not get worn through. There are two nuts that connect the battery terminals to the battery cables. I just undid the nuts, slipped the winch wires over the stud and replaced the nuts. If the line is not already spooled for you, just follow the directions for running the line through the drum and taping it off.

I've heard of people running their cables through black heater hose to protect them from rubbing and for a cleaner look.

I used a uni-bit to cut the holes for my wires, 3/4" diameter each. Used the plastic grommets for residential power box knockouts (I have tons of them on my service van) to insulate it. Worked very well.
