Jeeps and ATVs

I know this is gonna sound stupud but...
I was just curious to know if anyone has ever (or ever tried) to register a completley non-street legal jeep as an ATV?

I have a cottage in New Hampshire with a lot of trails in the area. But to get to these trails, I need to drive on dirt roads that ATV's are allowed on.

As soon as I get a secondary vehicle, my Jeep will be used just like an ATV, for dirt roads and trails only. And next time my inspcetion rolls around, with the mods I have planned, I will fail for sure.

Any ideas?

In Michigan you have to have a ORV sticker on you Jeep if you are on state land at any time. This is the same sticker that 4 wheelers/dirt bikes use. But, ORV are not allowed to be on roads, even dirt ones. In some counties in the northern part of the state they are allowed to use the shoulder of county roads.
