Jeep trailers

I've seen some really neat Jeep trailers out there. Some with lift kits, 35" tires, the whole deal. Has anyone had any experiences with these kind of trailers? Cost? Best brand? Functional? What do you think about them?

Expedition websites are the best places for feedback on offroad trailers. Somewhere like Adventure Trailers makes a great product although not cheap.

I did a spring over on my cargo trailer and I am running 33s. It could fit 35's.

What are you wanting to do with your trailer, and how much are you wanting to spend?

Here's a couple of links to a different view on Jeep Trailers (and there are more out there). They have a different bend on not only what a Jeep trailer is, but how to go about getting one. Way less expensive and you can make it however YOU want. Your choice. The first is mine. The second is far more in depth and you should definitely look at it. Good luck in your search.

As bobdog said; there are a lot of little trailer builds out there.

I'll also toss this out there as an option:

http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f27/m.../#post16455041

Basically it's a build your own military reproduction trailer.

And this one here is a very nice build that requires minimal fabrication skills; pretty much an all bolt-together trailer:

I had to do the same so I wouldn't have to run a huge drop hitch. Mines on 28's tho.

This one's a fiberglass tub kit that you can assemble on a Harbor Freight frame (www.dinoot.com):

And this military style trailer will be available in the next month or so, also as a fiberglass kit that can be assembled on an HF frame:

How much will the military style be? Will there be a kit available for the 8ft hf trailer? I'm about to buy(as in this weekend some time) a hf trailer, and I'm undecided on the small one or big one. I'd love to get the military style sides. It would save me alot of work

The military style kit is expected to be in the same ballpark as the Jeep-tub kit, might be slightly more but not too much. I don't think they've finalized the price yet.

Since it's a replica of the original M100/M416 trailers, the military kit is designed to be 6' long. There are plans for modifying an 8' HF trailer to fit the military trailer perfectly here: http://tventuring.com/trailerforum/t...8.html#pid2158 . Those plans also show how to strengthen the frame, and how to install receivers front and back (in the front for swapping couplers, in the back for things like bike racks, etc.).

The Jeep-tub trailer kit is available in multiple sizes, including an 8'3" version that fits very nicely on an 8' HF frame.

Accessories like tonneau covers are available for both kits (photo above), and a hard cover/tent platform is expected to be available for the military kit:

And unlike the original military trailer, the kit includes an option for a tailgate:

so if you use the small hf trailer, will it need to be modded as well?

Are you asking about putting the 40x48 HF trailer under the small Jeep-tub trailer (the Dinoot Compact)? I believe that HF frame could be used without modification under the Dinoot Compact tub kit, although as far as I know everyone who has built one of those kit has opted either for the HF 1720-lb. capacity 4x8 frame and modified it to be the proper size (a simple mod), or for a welded frame.
