Jeep DJ-5, AKA : Old Jeep Mail Truck!

Im sorry if im posting this in the wrong place, but i found this not only really interesting but very surprising haha, i found pictures of an old jeep mail truck! check it out! Apparently its called a DJ-5.

I remember seeing those delivering mail also.

I remember they were used for mail in the 90s. Or were those a different Jeep?

What is that mirror (located above the front-left side fender) that's pointed towards the hood used for?

The mirror is one of those fisheye things. It is used to check that nothing is in front of the jeep below the hood, like a little kid or a dog. Many have another on the rear.

These jeeps are quite common in rural areas, they still use them here. Usually have a 232 motor, and an auto tranny. Almost all are 2 wheel drive, with a posi limited slip in the rear.

Ah see im from the city area, so we just have the basic new ones, and i have never even seen one in like a movie or photos up until now, thought it was cool and would share, im sad everyone has actually seen these and i have never even heard of it
