Impact wrench/driver?

After doing a few spray in jobs on tucks and jeeps I started thinking about a pneumatic air tool to make all the bolts and torx bolts faster to remove. I need an airtool I can connect my sockets to. Are impact drivers and impact wrenches the same thing?

What are their typical air requirements? I looked on Craigslist and found a few on sale. What do I look for?

And finally is there a setting that allows me to not torque the bolts down to much?

Thanks in advance.

No, an impact wrench & impact drivers are not the same.
An impact driver is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Impact_driver
Impact wrench http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Impact_wrench

The impact wrench is best for removal and just running fastners down then torquing them by hand. I run 90psi on all my air tools.

The best cheap 1/2" impact is by far the IR 231. VERY strong and will last 20+ years in a home shop.
About 120 or so from many vendors. Try tool topia they send out quickly.
