how to tell how much a yj has been lifted

Is there an easy way to figure this out? Thanks

If you can run larger than stock size tires with little to no wheel well/ flair rub!! (31"+ sizes). Generally 2.5" will afford clearance for 31". 3-3.5" 32"~33". 4-4.5" 33~35". All are dependant on spring quality. The YJ has small wheel well openings. You can always throw on a set of TJ flairs, cut the existing metal out and Viola!! Now your running 33" with (est. 2.5" of lift!!

The rear diff is 9" from the ground. This is only changed by larger tires.
The rockers are 18" from the ground. This is changes by body/suspension lifts and larger tires.

Measure from the ground to the rocker. The measurement will = X
Measure your rear differential clearance. The measurement will = Y

X" - 18" - (Y" - 9") = The total inches of body / suspension lift you have.

Example: A jeep that measures 11" at the diff (Y) and 23" at the rockers (X) would have around 3" of lift.

Hmmmmm, well I have 32s on it rt now, no rub.....the reason I ask is that I'm looking at new shocks and I know they are lift specific... the person that I bought the yj from told me it was lifted 3 inches but I've always been skeptical of that..

Always be skeptical of a man who is getting rid of a jeep.

The time now is 11:38 PM.
