Pull fuse #4

This will also disable your "lights-are-on,but-ignition-is-off" alarm.

The clip mfinn is talking about looks like this:

it was stupid when I did it and I'm kinda regretting it now, but I just glued the plunger in.

now the only way my dome light comes on is when I turn the knob, doh!!

Carefully pry pin out.

Place in vice, vice will keep switch closed and drill "pin" sized hole through pin and sheath.

Ready to install

All done.

Time= 20 minutes
Cost= about .05 for safety pins

Just take your foot out of your sandal and hold the plunger in with your big toe.
Of course, you will need someone riding shotgun.

Awesome

GReat post on the light switches only correction I would make. A. you don't need to use a safety pin just cut a paper clip (a thicker one) in half. Also for drilling you don't have to pry the switch out and vice it, just use a very small bit and hold the switch closed with your other hand while you carefully drill through it with the other ( don't slip and hit your hand you got the warning). Did it in less than 4 minutes works great and I can still use the switch.

One of the 1st buys I made when I got old 02 TJ was the pins. I returned them the next day. They always fall off. They just don't seat well on the pin. Do as recommended and pull the fuse. Put it back in if needed. Mine's in my glove box ready and waiting to be used again (early dark winters here in Canada!). If you need domes on while the fuse is out, turn the switch on the turn signal.

Cost: $0.00
Time: 45 seconds (or so?)

P.S. - Just remember to turn off your lights since the reminder buzz will be gone!

P.P.S. - Nice fix Skyryder!
