Hitch luggage rack

Me and the wife are gonna be moving and would like to get a hitch luggage rack. Does anyone have one and if so how do you like it and how pratical is it? I dont want to spend the 100-200 bucks on one if they aren't that great. If you could post pics of it on your Jeep it would help. Thank you very much!!

They hold a decent amount, but put all the weight behind the rear axle. Anything more than 200lbs you're probably asking for trouble, and even with that, you're likely to be draggin pretty low. Have you considered renting a small trailer?

wheeling buddy bought one from walmart i believe a few years back. used it on his wrangler and worked pretty well. i believe the weight limit was 200 or something close to that. didnt cause much if any sag when i stood on it and i was 240lbs give or take.

I have used a 24 x 60 hitch rack for two 2500+ mile round-trips from Louisiana to Colorado. With a family of four in the Jeep, that was essentially all the luggage space we had. Also got a weatherproof vinyl "cargo-bag" that fit well in/on the rack, and gave us 20 cu ft of "trunk" space. Probably as much as some little economy cars.

Worked flawlwssly as far as I was concerned. Mine is not a "high-rise" version, so it would have severely limited rear departure angle on the trails. That wasn't a problem for us, though, since we just unloaded and removed it when we reached our destination, and then hit the trails.

I did get some cheap trailer lights from Wallyworld and attached them to the rack, since the cargo bag pretty much obscurred the Jeeps taillights when viewed from the rear.
