Help Testing Warn xd9000 motor
I picked up a used xd9000 the other day, they guy said it wasnt working so got a deal i think on it.. trying to bypass the solenoids like Warn reccomends and I get nothing in either direction for the motor, when i touch the terminals it is acting like a dead short.
Between F1 and F2 I have 0 ohms, Between A and Ground 0 Ohms, and Between F1/F2 and A it is open. I think i am going to take it into a starter shop in the morning and see whats up.. But is there anything else I can test? I had to replace two of the connection lugs for F1 and F2 they were stripped out. I took the motor apart and cleaned everything up, everything was really clean looked good and spun freely. I am just looking for some more motor tests please.... thanks jarrod

ok well i messed with it a little more.. It seems to run then it just slowly slows down, I have it in freespool. it slows down and the connections get red hot... I am guessing something in the motor is bad.. magnets/ armature.. something like that... any idea where you can buy any of these pieces???

Might check eBay for a new motor.. I've seen them for less than $150. I paid $99 for the motor on my old M10000.

thanks for the link.. starter shop said they got it working great.. $60 bucks.. so $460 for a xd9000... not bad
goign to rebuild the other end with new grease and seals just to be safe.. but still i guess it was a lot dirtier inside than i thought it was.. they spent a while cleaning and testing so should be good to go now |
