help! broken shock

just realized I broke the bar pin on my front driver side shock after a wheeling trip. my shock was hanging freely, but I removed it totally. Am I alright to drive around town carefully until I get a new one? or should I keep it off the road?

Yes carefully. It won't be unruly just a little bouncy on the springs.
