I'm sure you can get one from the manufacturer, but I'd just re-plumb it to use standard fittings. The ones the mfg put on are goofy, so a standard quick-disco chuck won't fit on it. Re-plumbing doesn't take any time at all...cakewalk.

That was what I used, just got mine from Harbor Freight. You'll need to adapt the size from the pump housing to the fitting - do a search for the modifications and you'll see what you need.

Then use the search - I did a writeup on it some time ago.

I bought the Costco Q-Maxx and removed the proprietary connector, in the process of getting it out of the pump it is now un-usable. Since removing the connector I've had NO luck getting a replacement 1/4" to work. I took the original part to a couple stores locally that have a huge selection but still no joy. One guy told me it's a 12mm with a 1mm pitch - most have 1.5mm pitch for that size.

What size connector are people using to replace the silver proprietary end?

Thanks,
Bob

I'm 99% sure I used 1/4" fittings from the hardware store. I guess it's possible that it doesn't truly fit right, but I've got enough teffy tape on the threads that it's holding. It definitely threaded in well for me.

Well, to contribute to the thread, I don't think you can beat the little red compressor (whichever name you call it by) for the price! Here is mine...

(after some suds and bubbles...)

I have the red plastic filter piece and the handle sitting on my workbench and I was going to throw them out, but if anybody wants then they're yours for the cost of shipping. I know somebody must want that filter...

Thanks for confirmation of the size, I guess at this point I have nothing to loose - put teflon tape on the 1/4" fitting I have and see if I can make it work.

Another idea I had is to tap the fitting to work, this isn't something I have a lot of experience with so might not be the best. . .

I'm very concerned about yours not threading clean like mine did. I almost wonder if they did something goofy with that thing.

If teflon tape doesn't do it, you should probably drill and tap it to fit whatever size fitting you prefer. You would want to drill it out completely and tap accordingly.

So I have the MF1050 compressor hardmounted under hood. Love it for airing up tires... I was wondering if I could find a link as to how you wire in a pressure switch so it cuts off when it reaches "x" psi(I'd like to use an auxillary tank to eventually run lockers, air horn, etc).

Does anyone know where to get the costco unit in canada? I was just about to order the ARB high output, when I came across this thread! It seems like they are comparable units if you don't have lockers.

Well, I did some research on it an it looks like the MV50 and the MF-1052 are exactly the same.

MV50 on Amazon.

MF-1052 on Amazon.

The MV-50 is $12 cheaper though, I think. If you don't believe me here is a write up about the MV-50.
