I don't think they can unless the tires are on the street/hwy. Can you elaborate as to why they could? Is it because of having gas in a diesel can or because it is vented? They have a cert of some type on them.

Probably solve the problem by putting a class 2 "1203" label on it to identify the contents. There is a limit to how much a non commercial vehicle can carry. I think it is 110gal.

I got two off eBay for 110 shipped. There used military surplus scepter cans. All I had to do was by two viton gaskets for the caps and made my own pour spout.

Love my scepter cans (which are sand colored), but they aren't cheap.

Garage
Nice!

The real benefit to the scepters is the pipe threading making it easy to rig up all kinds of things.

They pour easier. Just like the newer beer cans that have the vented caps. Kind of strange that we cant buy a vented gas can anymore but at least our beer cans are.
OK, rant off.

Ya, a vented can is better for the enviroment because it does not gurgle and spill gas and vapors on the ground.

i'm tired of hoisting 5 gallon cans. i have an 18 gallon plastic gas tank form a boat that i'll be installing in back. no kids so no seat back there and it will work for me. will be nice having 30+ gallons of gas in the little cj.

Those puppies work too. I have two of them. There is a marble inside that makes the foot valve seal. Pretty clever. The first one I bought was at a "National parts peddler" show in syracuse NY way back in the early '90s, now My Local Lowes carries them.

yep, that's what I use. Awesome product. My gas fill is on the driver rear. I have a 5 gallon can mounted in the back.

When I go wheel'n I just fill it up and when we are done I use the super siphon to drain the can. No vent needed. No moving the gas can. No spilling. I don't end up leaving old gas in the can. It's a win win for sure.

For the Canadian Jeepers. Go to Princess Auto, they have fuel cans in 10 or 20 litres.
http://www.princessauto.com/pal/en/F...-Can/8451411.p

And they have the water cans in 10 or 20 litres.
http://www.princessauto.com/pal/en/C...-Can/8451429.p

As well as a metal bracket/holder for the cans.

Regular price is a little steep but like everything at Princess Auto, just wait for the sales.

I hated them too until I started using them. Flat out.. They work better.

This is what Canada uses.... maybe different than what you guys are talking about.
The vent is part of the spout..... ribbed for comfort......
