Anyone have experience with a fiberglass windshield frame? Mine is getting rusty and I can get one at a good price. After swapping out the frame something that can't rust sounds pretty good.
Keep in mind that unless you have an aftermarket rollcage that the OE steel windshield frame is part of the support for the OE rollcage. Which is stronger than some give it credit for.
I think (heard?) that most of the aftermarket steel ones are made of lighter gauge steel. I know the one that I swapped to years ago was thinner. I thought they were all the same back then and bought mainly by price.
I have a a fiberglass windshield frame, I don't like.
It doesn't seal to the tub, it flexed at highway speeds. It then cracked on the drivers side. I repaired it, and it broke again. It is very thin and poor quality. I don't know what brand it is, got from the PO.
Going to get a steel one and replace it after my trip.
I have a fiberglass windshield frame , but I also have a roll cage that supports it at higher speeds. It's fine for slow speeds, but you can see it flex on the highway. I wouldn't buy another one if it ever broke.
