a few random questions.

I have a roof rack with my spare tire, hi lift and shovel mounted up there... The factory roof rails are already buckling from the weight of it all... has anyone mounted their roof racks directly to the roof rails and not the factory weakling cross bars?

also, i am looking to get a gerry can mounted somewhere in/on my jeep ( preferably on) i found a 5 gallon mount plate for them, i was wondering if anyone has mounted a gerry can on the tailgate of a zj? otherwise from there, where else would be a good place to put it? (it will obviously only be filled up for long trips, no while cruising to the mall and back...

my last question is this:

is it necessary to upgrade the alternator to use a winch? I am considering an arb bull bar and a winch, but i was curious to know if the factory alternator can pump out enough juice for the winch to run good.

Safari'd out ZJ.
