Fancy Car Alarms?

My Jeep has been compromised yet again in the parking garage I park in at home. Looking to possibly deter possible vandalism or theft in the future. Any fancy car alarms that include or accept proximity sensors? I figure if I can cover most of the windows, it may help. Since the garage has attendants in it at all hours, so it may draw attention. If possible, I'd love the alarm to be a constant buzzing or something, not a "beep beep beep". Something that buzzes until they leave the field.

I don't know how close you live to where you park, but I have a 2 way alarm so it the Jeep is disturbed, my key fob tells me. I also have mine set up so that I can arm/disarm/remote start from my cell phone from anywhere. My phone also gets an alert when the Jeep is disturbed, even if I'm out of the the range where the key fob can talk to the vehicle.

I used the Viper 5701 with Smart start. Did the install myself but it was still a little pricey, I think $500 for the hardware and a monthly fee for the service. But I like having the piece of mind and having my Jeep tell me when it's in trouble.

Let me know if you have any questions about my set up.

I park in a garage and live in the apartment above it. Probably out of range for that, but still sounds like something I'd want. How was the installation? Any issue bypassing the stock alarm or anything?

Any do you have proximity sensors?

Cheers

I didn't have a stock alarm or a Sentry Key so not issues to bypass there. I do have a proximity sensor that I love for top down days. It's in the lid of the center console.

The install wasn't bad. I sat down with a wiring diagram for the alarm, next to a diagram for the Jeep and figured out where I wanted to tap into everything. Just a lot of soldier, heat shrink and tape.

Can you track your vehicle in real time with smartstart? I'd like to check my phone while I'm at work or somewhere and make sure my vehicle is still there. Id pay the fee for peace of mind like that.

I like how your setup sounds. With the proximity sensors. Maybe even get something that alerts me if it's being towed.

if you had a power supply you could put a cattle shocker on it. one touch, they become the siren.

Something like that was considered. I thought about wrapping my aux lights in barbed wire to prevent theft, but living in America, if someone hurts themselves on it, they'll just sue.

well i had 10 acres in AZ all wired up with a cattle shocker high wire and low. The law stated that the fence must be signed every so many feet. Just put a sign on it.

I can bet you that with a BIG azz sign people will still touch it. i know as people did it then too. FUNNY stuff... hey fred you think this wire is hot? hold my beer........ i wont kill or harm just bite your azz.

poeple in our country are freaking pu$$ies
