Driveshaft question

I am currently getting parts for my hack n tap SYE I just purchased, and tomorrow I am meeting a guy to check out an XJ front driveshaft to use as my rear driveshaft after the SYE install. My question is, what do I need to look for on that driveshaft? Anything I need to be aware of before I buy it? I assume u-joints? How do I know if they are good or bad?

Make sure it isn't bent and the slip joint isn't shot. The u-joints shouldn't have any wiggle.
