Dana "slow" carrier?

This is one for you folks that've been around Jeeps awhile.
What is ment by the term "slow carrier" when refering to a Dana 30? carrier? (or most any Dana carrier)
I saw a website that sold a "fast" carrier and a "slow" carrier for a Dana 30. I assume this refers to the axle ratios, but which is which?
Thanks.

I would imagine the "slow" carrier is for the 3.92 and steeper gears and the "fast" carrier is for the 3.73 and taller gears... steeper.. taller... more confused now?

I hope that's the case. I bought an LSD carrier that says "Dana 30 slow" on the box, and I'd like to install 4:11s. I have a standard carrier for 4:11s, and they LOOK to be equal in size and pattern.
If you had a 3:07 carrier and a 4:11 carrier, what difference would you see? How could you tell them apart?
TIA!

The ring gear mounting flange will be different between the two. If you're holding the carrier in your hands with the ring gear flange on the left side, the 4.11 carrier would have the ring gear mounting flange farther to the left. The 4.11 uses a thicker ring gear and smaller pinion gear than say... a 3.07. If it's not the right one... you'll know when you try to install it.. it absolutely will not fit. Ask me how I know
