dana 44 - is this a good deal?

i currently know someone looking to sell a dana 44 rear out of an 02 wrangler unlimited. this is exactly what the ad reads:

Rear axle with disc brakes Dana 44 rear
for sale - $500
GAWR 2950
65,000 miles

im thinking that this will bolt up to a TJ, correct? any input? thanks.

This axle probably does not have disc brakes, as far as i know they only came on rubicon models 03-06 and the new JK's. Guess it could of had some brake kit installed, or it may be out of something else?

$500 for a 44 in good condition is probably still a good price disc or no disc....I would find out what gears are in it, because you may need to regear and that will run you a bit.

Buy it. That's a pretty solid price. I'm guessing 3.73's.

Thats a good deal if its already set up to bolt in and the gear ratio matches your front end gears. It cost me close to a grand to put a mj 44 in my yj and I only payed 130 bucks for it.
