also, doe,s passenger side axle have to come out to install aussie?if so, does the shift fork and motor have to come out?

The carrier has to be removed, you cannot remove the roll-pin without taking it out (well maybe, but it is NOT worth the trouble) and the cross shaft won't clear the ring gear teeth anyways. My roll ping needed a steel screw driver put in the hole and POUNDED out with a bfg. The whole carrier has to be pulled and the ring gear removed, the axle shafts must be removed to do this. The only way to move the passenger axle shaft enough to clear the carrier is to pull the vacuum motor and move the axle by hand. Do a search for 'aussie locker' I did a ton of talking about this when I installed mine.

Hehe good to hear, I've heard some say the 307's wouldn't let the pin out but it depends on the location in reference to the gear teeth, you lucked out! Shoot me a PM if you have issues with the install

Alright, since he has 3.07 gears and is able to get the roll pin out with the carrier still installed, what about 4.88 gears? the R&P is bigger than 3.07's, so theoretically should this not be possible?

I am running 4.10 gears and had to remove the ring gear to install it. The gear teeth are too tightly woven\stick out to far to remove the cross shaft, it slides out of the carrier but then hits the teeth and can't be removed.
