Colorado legal to have windshield down?

I know there are a ton of Colorado Jeepers on here but I'm trying to find out if anyone has looked in to Colorado law regarding the windshield. I've looked on other threads but haven't gotten details on Colorado law

Colorado law does not require a motorcycle helmet when I ride, only eye protection, so I assume it's legal as long as I have 2 mirrors and sunglasses. However, this assumption won't get me out of a ticket.

I couldent find anything on it with my search... Try sending an email to the State highway patrol in your area (check your city website for a link) Thats how I always get my confirmation. I ask the people who would be writing me one

I dont think it would be a problem in the woods but on the streets, I'd be worried.
- windshield flapping up right if it catches wind under at higher speeds...
- flying rock, bird, bugs (i caught a wasp in my helmet once on a bike. NOT fun!!! the one time i thought it would be nice to roll with the visor up GRR)

But for legality, try the local PD/patrol. here's a link:

I have never heard of a law banning it. I just spent several hours looking up Colorado vehicle equipment requirement for a different threat on the legality of bead locks. From what I can tell, Colorado has very few requirements on vehicle (i.e. horn, brakes, seat belts) Nothing was mentioned about windsheilds.

The Colorado Attorney Generals web page has a search engine for Colorado law. I couldn't find squat in there saying windshields were required or beadlocks are bad!

Ya I've been trying to do research myself. I haven't really found anything either. I'll let you guys know if I come up with anything solid

I guess it's more curiosity than anything. Of course I always wear a helmet when I ride the bike so I doubt I'd be doing anything like highway speed. I'll need to test it out to see how fast I can lower the JK shield if I were up on the trail but I worry about such little roll protection.
