Ammo cans

What type of ammo can would be good to keep fluids. Im trying to find a wide enough one but still have it be tall enough to keep some oil and such in. What does everyone use? Im looking at the surplus cans because they can be found easily.

I'm assuming you mean to keep bottles of fluids safe and not actually pour your fluids into the can and use a spigot or something as a dispenser.

20mm cans are great for all kinds of stuff, although they're not as easy to carry and store as the smaller 7.62 and .50 cal boxes (do a google image search for 20mm ammo can to see one). They're not as easy to get as the smaller boxes either.

Yeah to keep bottles of fluids. I was just trying to figure out what be the best fit. Maybe one for parts and one for fluids.

We used the 20mm cans to store larger items (including fluids) and the other cans for small stuff on the ships quite often. They stack well, are waterproof, have handles, and were plentiful and free (I worked on the Phalanx CIWS (20mm) at the time and was buddies with the Gunners Mates so I could get the smaller cans whenever I wanted).

I always wanted a 25mm can but we didn't shoot that gun too much so there weren't any empty cans that weren't spoken for. They're probably too big to use in a vehicle but you might want to look into one in case it's what you're looking for.

They're all metal so you could conceivably drill some mounting holes and use rubber grommets or something to maintain the seal.

Check a army surplus store or the internet, you shouldn't have any problem getting some.

edit: Go Jaguars!
