Advice on new lift

Hi.
I recently went on my first wheeling trip in my current jeep (05 unlimited, 6 speed, 31x10.50, and a rough country 2.5 in. lift).
My question/problem is that the ride is so harsh it's very hard to control the jeep, so I was wondering if there is any advice on with brand of lift has the best on and off road manners. I was think OME with a 1.25 BL.

What shocks do you have? What pressure are you running your tires at?

The no2 rough country shocks. Do you think that the shocks would make that much of a difference? Because I thought about getting the rancho 9000(the adjustable ones). But another source told me that the rough country spring rate is an ungodly amount, so i didn't think new shocks would make that much difference.But the last time I checked they were at 42 psi.thats what they were from the dealership. On my last tj I ran my mickey's around 33-35 psi.

I also thought that's the RC control arms might have something to do with it riding so violently.

first, air down to 15# for off-road. google chalk test for proper air pressure. I run my 35" tires at around 26# on the street. I run my F150 towing a 6800# trailer at 42#

Yep, air down when you get to the trail. Air back up before you get on the road. Lot's of ways to air back up. Cheapest is to get a decent air compressor. A good one can be had for less than $100 easy and your 31" tires won't take long to air back up.

Thank you. I'm going to air them down to 25 psi and try that to see if it helps. Then adjust as needed thank you for the info.

Do you mean an on board air compressor or just a regular compressor? I have just a regular air compressor and I also have a portable air tank.

OK first you need to find the correct pressure for on the road. Search for the chalk test, it will tell you step by step how to get your street pressure correct for your tires. I will tell you 42psi is just way to fricken much!!!

Now you need to find a portable air compresser that runs off of your battery in the Jeep, ViAir, SureFlow, SuperFlow, etc. Look in the on-line stores.

On my Hercules Terra Tracs of the same size as yours I run 10psi off road and it really helps with traction and the ride. I hope this helps.

With those tires, on road 28-30 psi. Offroad 12 psi area.

Yeah 42psi is way to much, I just never checked them when I got the jeep back In April. And thanks for the sources I will definitely check into all three thanks again.
