89 XJ rear axle swap into 95 YJ?

I have a 95 YJ with a bad rear end. I figure it would be easiest to just change the whole axle out. But, the dilemma is, I have a couple XJ's laying around and I was wondering if the factory XJ rear ends were interchangable with the YJ's..

My question is this, will the XJ rear axle interchange with my YJ?

Is there any modifications needed?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Austin.

I'm no expert but it sure seems like that should just be a bolt-up job... or at most, a minor mod kind of installation. What's wrong with your YJ's rear Dana 35c axle?

your going to need to cut off of the Spring Perches and Shock mounts and get new ones and weld them on in the correct locations...

the XJ had different spring & shock locations from the YJ
