Jeep Information

Year:1973

Model:J2000

Engine:AMC 258

Tires:33"

Had this Jeep for a little over a year now. Finally tinkered with it enough to get it driving, only to discover that it has a terrible whining or hollering noise in the transmission or t-case. The noise only happens when the transmission is freewheeling. Any load accelerating or decelerating causes the sound to stop. Does anyone have any idea what that is and if there's any way to fix it without replacing my tranny? Any info at all will be helpful. Thanks
