your right... Your 230pm is my 230am... brain fart. With chromo shafts (450.00) and ctm joints(210.00 each), hp30 (200.00) he's already at a grand WITH OUT gears or a locker.the next thing to fail is the ring gear or pinion. I'd rather lose a joint than something in the case. He's running bone stock 3.55's. With ctms, chromo's he's gonna then want a locker and better gears. Then he's gotta do the rear to match. Can of worms unless that's his direction (which, sooner or later will be). For the way he is NOW he just needs to throw a xj front end at it and carry around some extra shafts and run new 760x joints. Save A LOT and then step it up. He needs to get it driving right now. Who knows. Maybe he didn't wallow out the ball joint holes and he can just repair what he has. Either way IMO a stock xj 30 is good for now. He'll just have to shorten his ds and he's done. Save for a REAL front end.
