Let start listing places where we have had a positive experience, gotten a good deal or great service. There are always two sides to every story so let's do any bashing privately.
I'll start.
Took my soft top in today to get a new zipper, a couple of snaps replaced and a tear sewn up. Went here because they were the first place to pop up on google that was close to work.
Got my top back the same day, nice work and for a very fair price. Nice guys too.
Suspension work and gear work on my Jeep. Explained everything and what cost's were. I felt OK pulling money out of my pocket for once at a repair place.
Good guys
El Cajon / Santee near the airport
Mufflers & Tires Baja
12020 Royal Road, El Cajon, CA

Had them do my exhaust, good guys he showed me everything he was doing as he was doing it, he did a great job. One of the guys there had a ZJ on 37's
Just dont buy your muffler from them, they are expensive. but proshops is right up the road i got a flowmaster super 40 for 50 bucks
I have used Ranch Muffler in Temecula for many things over the years and they are some good guys with decent prices. They have rock sliders and step on clearance now for I think $125, I saw a stack of them just inside their door this week.

I went by and looked at them. They are really nice (body armor brand) but not the style I'm looking for. Those bolt to the body mount bolts and hang below the body like a nerf bar. Good quality tho'. I'm looking to CREATE clearance, not eliminate it, so those won't work. The guy there was pretty helpful tho'.
Re: the fab shop. Yes, they did some work on my Jeep and will be doing more. Mike is pretty sharp and is a great welder. They have all the fabbing toys. Just tell him I sent you (so he'll charge you more, kidding) and he will take care of you.
I have never bought more than a few pieces from the scrap pile but they are always friendly and helpful and seem glad for the business. Good prices too.
There are closer places but I like these guys and go there when I need to rent something or to get propane tanks filled. They charge by the gallon if you get more than one take filled so it's cheaper than paying a flate rate per tank.
Going there on the way home tonight to get a floor sander.
Take the 15 north, exit Hwy 76, turn left, cross the freeway, immediately on your right before the gas station. Little grey colored building. Looks like a dive, but good burgers. Very crowded on weekends around lunch.
They have every size and type of bolt, nut screw and fastener and sell by the pound for most of it; way cheaper than Home Depot, Lowes or anywhere else in town. Also industrial hardware, bearings, tools and new and used junk.
I got the jeeped towed over to my friends house today. Now just waiting for him to tell me when we are going to get in fixed. But I found Segura's Towing he charged me 60 bucks to tow it from Mt Helix to Santee 11miles. No hook up fee or milage. Where one place I called was 49.95 to hook 10 per mile. Antonio was very nice, prompt and professional 619-977-2226 cell
My favorite restaurant is the Butcher shop off the 163 and clairemont mesa.
Marshalls hardware on production off miramar road has every kind of nut, bolt, fitting, etc.
IMS (industrial metal supply) is off convoy by the wendys near the 52 side.
I've bought some stuff i wanted right away from ORW. Always nice guys, but not cheap.
ORW on balboa. ive dropped a LOT of coin in there the past month or so after i ran over the altima...they have been super helpful and are knowledgable. as it turns out, one of the guys that works there is a pro at my skatepark. i had no idea he worked there lol
When my cat clogged, I eventually had the exhaust rebuilt from the cat back at Ed Hansons muffler. It was reasonably priced and Ed is awesome. Treats you like someone who genuinely enjoys his job.
Big thumbs up for Billy at Hellfire Fab Works in Lakeside.
He put in my ARB for a very fair price, quick and a good guy too.
He is still working on getting a website so in the meantime PM me if you want his phone number.
