Tds 2015

Is anyone going?

http://www.tds4x4.com/

I usually skip it because the type of wheeling out there and the drunken shenanigans don't interest me.

But, it's a huge event with a lot of vendors and a big raffle so I have been considering it this year.

I'm going mostly to look and maybe raffle. Won't be camping, it's only about 20 minutes from our North Glamis place. What don't you like about the wheeling? the ugly landscape, dust, or not challenging enough?

All 3. Plus the type of crowd over the past couple of years has become much more shaddy. It's fun to get away I suppose but not worth it to me to have to get the time off etc...

I'm going again this year. Figure I gotta get lucky one of these years at the raffle. The crowds can be a pain but we don't normally hang out with the rowdy drunks anyway. Plus, 5-10 minutes of the Notches is about all I can take

This year I think I'll arrange some day trips to explore some of the historical spots in the area. Most of the trails out there can be a bit boring anyway.

This will be my tenth year attending. Wouldn't miss it for anything. It's my annual vacation. So far been lucky in the raffle twice. First win was iirc about 5 years ago. My Mastercraft Baja RS seats with 3" 5 point harness sets. (Which will be heated this year. Installing a heated seat kit in them for those chilly night runs). Second win was just this past year. Rugged radios race radio, $500 rubicon express gift certificate which bought my new 4.5" XD springs and some other odds and ends in the package. I always register, but never have done the organized runs. I don't like sitting in traffic all day. The group I camp with does our own thing. We roam all over Truckhaven hills on our own and always have fun. Of course we always go watch the mayhem at the notches at night for a while, but then go out on our own for some fun.

As usual I will be heading out Thursday morning to secure our usual camp site off the left side of North Marina drive before the big hills where vendors row used to be in years past. Staying out until Sunday morning or afternoon. Our camp is adults only. No need to worry about sensitive little ears that way. Always room for more though if anyone cares to join us at our camp.

But the tires might not have great traction. I guess I Could always disconnect the sway bar.
