Rik and Betsy are in. Somebody should bring a BBQ and we can cook up a decent lunch instead of the usual PBJ sammiches.
Propane would be less time consuming.
Steaks... maybe a t-bone or a ribeye. They cook quickly. Corn on the cob already wrapped in foil with butter and sweet onions.
Yeah... that's what I want. What goes good with steaks? Margaritas!

That's a great idea. Plus we'll have something to do while you're fixing your jeep.

You can get gas in Santa Isabelle or Julian.

I'm coming from the other side of the mountain, so my last stop is Warner Springs.

So who has a propane BBQ? I don't mind putting it in my back seat if you don't want to haul it once we meet up. I won't have my kids with me this trip (unless they beg and do a lot of chores and pay me money).

Last I heard the plan was to be at banner by 9:30.

breakfast here at 8.
Apple Country Restaurant 30270 Highway 79 Santa Ysabel, CA

Or, if you are coming from the other direction or up from 8 there is this alternative.

Which way are you coming? If you're coming down the 67 why not meet us in Santa Ysabel? The trail starts at the bottom of Banner grade on the back side of Julian.

Directions:

I-15 north to Poway rd
take Poway rd east to CA-67 north
CA-67 north runs into Ramona and then turns into CA-78
in the middle of town
continue on CA-78 through Ramona and take a nice long drive through the country
you'll arrive in Santa Ysabel on the corner of CA-78 and CA-79
the restaurant is to your left.

Julian. VFW or maybe American Legion post.

I'll probably go to the place next to Dudleys. I've been to this before and it's a pretty good deal. Might be a line and a wait though.
