Sandy Eggo LJ question!!??

Hey there, local LJ dudes! I am looking to get an OEM style soft top for my 05 LJ, but before I pop I'd like to see how it operates. The Jeep is my wifes daily driver. I bought a Trektop NX for it, and although it looks great, it's a bit of a pain for her to take up and down so I put the hard top back on for her.

So, if any LJ owners here have an OEM top, would you be willing to meet somewhere so I can get a firsthand viewpoint of the tops operation? We can even meet at my house, I always have Blue Moon and Fat Tire in the garage fridge...

Trade the Trektop for the oem Soft top?

Anyways, it's real simple.

Make sure it is connected to the brackets and the Door surrounds installed

Start with the top folded down

Bring the header to the connection at the windshield and leave everything loose. The rear pillars are folded inward on mine to be folded down easier

The front sunrider section will have hinges like the trektop does. Make sure it is not folded back like shown below

The front should be like this

The rear pillars will stay loose until the front header is connected to the windshield

Header connection

Once the header is connected, install the rear pillars

The hardware should resemble this before you install the windows

After those are connected, connect the 2 side windows

Clip these into the door surrounds after the side windows are installed

Zip on the rear window (no picture)

That should be it! Hopefully that helped. I tried to make it as easy as possible. Once you get the soft top on there, it's straight forward. If you have any questions, just ask

Thanks! Did you do all of that for me? Either way, awesome, I really appreciate it. And yes, a trade is possible...

Glad I could help! I did write the write-up in reverse and actually took the top off. Just an excuse to go topless!
