There is no plan to go on any run. Another board tried a M&G mixed with a run and it was an epic failure. People were showing up to the M&G while those there were ready to roll out.

This is a M&G BBQ event on Fiesta Island.

forgot about that, sorry I even mentioned it.

We showed up for the M&G and 5 minutes later everyone took off in all directions.

Maybe it's just me, but isn't the best place to meet and greet out on the trail or at the campsite? I really don't see the point of getting together at the beach. I hope to be surrounded by cactus, rocks, and a dozen empty beer cans. After all, even a (Civic/XJ/YJ/TJ/MrBlaineSponsoredUberJeep) can make it to Fiesta Island.

Just a thought...

I think that's kind of the point. We can get together and not have to worry about breaking anything and put some names and faces together for later.

If you go to the desert we do a run then everyone takes off and I still don't know who they are.

Just to add to what Jeff said the idea behind having it at Fiesta Island is also to make for a relaxed atmosphere. People can come and go as they please. I don't want people feeling like they need to commit an entire day to people they have never met before either.

I've seen a Jeep lost to the beach. You should youtube it!

Edit: Not us obviously, but it took us 5 Jeeps strapped together to get him out

I still remember the last one. As I was leaving and looping around the island I came across a big old 2wheel drive F-150 stuck in the water after loading up his jet ski on his trailer. Some guy in an XJ had tried and failed to pull him out and they waved me down as I drove past. Pulled up, busted out the tow strap and ended up having to fix it to the front frame on the guys truck as he had no tow points, hooked that to the winch, set the parking brake and popped him right on out in a bout 5 seconds.

Hmm, maybe I should just take to driving around out there on my days off looking for stuck people. Could probably make a few bucks doin that.

might be able to swing by for a few hours before work. Will probably be in the tow rig/DD though. The YJ is still sitting in the carport with its exhaust torn apart. Dropping in a new Cat again and hopefully this time it will pass mog. Had to replace the damn charcoal canister and my home made cold air intake too. Smog Nazis are gettin worse and worse around here. I now have a perty K&N intake kit though. Gotta get my Mastercrafts in at some point too, and replace the track bar I bent at TDS last year, oh and the inner seal on the D30.

Damn, I gotta get to work!! TDS is only 5 months away!! Might need to have a wrenching party
