For you San Diego area types (I'm actually up in Escondido) that have installed a clutch in a 4.0L '97 or newer TJ:
I'm going to be installing a new Luk clutch into my '97 TJ 4.0L sometime in early-to-mid January and I could sure use some experienced help. The last clutch I installed was in my old '66 VW beetle so while I believe I could get this done on my own, an extra set of experienced hands would be awesome. No, we will not have the need to machine the flywheel. Also, I have air tools to help speed the process as well as a clean well-lit carpeted garage to work in.

So if anyone has a free weekend sometime in that timeframe, your help would be awesome and much appreciated. Pizza and beverages of your choice included.

Switch, you should have gone with a suspension lift. I was noticing how bad your springs are sagging. I bet you will still have problems going through that little wash out in Otay but at least you won't tear body parts as much now. A lunchbox locker in the front will do wonders for you.

Im savin up for a lift. but with a lift comes tires. and with tires comes wheels. and with all that comes SYE. And then any other problems. The body lift is to give me room to fit my atlas when i get one when im 40 years old. Planin ahead.

I'm not experienced, but I can help as long as it's not the 13th, 14th, 20th, 21st, 27th, or 28th... Which leaves only the 7th and 8th. If that's when you get to it, I'll be glad to help. I don't mind scraping some knuckles with you, but I've never done a clutch replacement, so I might be in the way. Let me know! I think I still remember how to get to your place!

I personally would skip the hawaii trip, the parties, the weddings, and the cruises and do the clutch with Jerry. it would be alot funner than those stupid parties. Ill help too if you like. Im good at stating the obvious, getting water, beer, pizza for everyone, finding lost tools, and retriving bolts that fall into weird places.

I can also supply the strippers. Male or Female, wichever you prefer.

Table Mountain Overlook

Saturday desided to do some bunny rabbit trails in the Table Mountain area. Theres some good exploring stuff there. Most trails dead end and you just go to the next one . Lots of ole mine sites.

Theres a good trail with some pucker moments going to the Carrizo gorge look out. Some sharp uneasy turns going up Never less fun!

Heres the Pix from the look out.

When I do the clutch job you're welcome to come over Mat. But I still need someone who is experienced at replacing a clutch on a 4.0L, I haven't done one either. It isn't be brain surgery but it'd be nice to have a little experience there to help speed things up. The date is still up in the air of course.

I can lend a hand, never done a clutch, but done enough other work I feel confident enough to take a stab at it, just let me know.
