Oh yeah. I forgot and the K&N filter set-up.

The best part about this up-grade was the price...$0.00

Well, Jeff and I ended up pulling the entire drive train today. Wednesday the cleaning begins (tomorrow is the US Open playoff round! ) and I'll go from there. Right now the plan is to do the rebuild but I won't object to an engine swap if the right deal comes around.

Jeff- You left your shades. I'm booked up tomorrow until around 7 so let me know what works for you beyond that.

You are correct sir. We did not drain the transmission, until it was on the floor. Plus the remaining coolant from the engine. The floor was an OSHA nightmare.

Joe,

Do you recall the torque for the D30 bearing caps. I am seeing conflicting numbers from 60-75#

Second, the FSM says not to reuse ring gear bolts. Do I care about that?

^^^ ^^^

D30 bearing caps should be 60 ft lbs.

Technically, yeah, new ring gear bolts *should* be used. You MUST use Loctite/thread locker & torque them to 55 ft lbs on the D30.

Master install kits do include new ring gear bolts, but I suppose you could buy them seperately.

Any time, I still suck at upside down welding though.

Anybody here today?

I just got a call from Ari. He is stalled on the freeway and waiting for AAA to tow him home.

He stopped by the house last night and we set his timing, it was off by about 10 degrees. We did nothing else and touched nothing else so I assume it is coincidental.

I am going to stop by there on the way home to see what's up.

Anyone else avail to take a look today? Point Loma area.

Well back home now.

Jeep still not starting, and no clue what is wrong.

Just ate so I am gonna go outside and do 2 things first, check all the fuses and take a look at the distributor without the cap on.

Basically she was running smooth, as i got on the freeway I had a lose of forward momentum, I felt the engine skip a couple beats, and started pulling over and then lost power completely. Figured it was the fuel pump, turned it back on and went about 100 ft before it **** out again for good.

As i was checking again i heard 2 loud metallic spark/rapping noises while the car was off.

My only non-electrical guess is since it rotates but wont start and has the clicking to ignite is maybe the fuel line is clogged somewhere?

Otherwise my best guess is something went zap zap boom. =(
