I'm talking about getting it home. I would definitely check it out before you put in the GC.
So what is "supposed" to be wrong with it. Usually on the 44A its the wheel bearings that go, which is an easy replacement. Ask the guy what kind of noise it was making and when it was happening. The pinion bearings are most likely good. The carrier bearings might be bad. Depending on how they shim the 44A for the carrier bearings could be a simple job (2 of 5) or a (4 of 5). Well damn, now you have me thinking. I'll do some research and post in awhile.
