Anyone is welcome to come all we ask is that you drive smart.

TruckHaven next to the Salton sea, you can find the sea on any map if you want to look it up. Nearest town is Borrego Springs, well there are a few truckstops near it.

I can lead another trip next weekend I would like to get there early if possible.

For the San Diego crew I would say that meeting at my house is the best option unless you want to explore a better way off the 8 or something.

I saved about 30 miles by going through Valley Center.

I would like to do it on Saturday again, unless there is to much objection.

Departure would be 7 AM optimally giving us a full day there. It does tend to get windy at 3-4 or so.

We are still realitively new to this area so we are planning on just exploring.

Requirements are
Tow strap
Useable spare
First aid kit
and a good attitude.

As an ole salt once told me "The dirt at TruckHaven is soft so when you roll it, you won't get much damage"

These are the only directions I have...

Truckhaven

Directions to Truckhaven:

From South San Diego and East County:

Take I8 to Hwy 67. Take Hwy 67 to Ramona. From Ramona take Hwy 78 to Santa Ysabel. From Santa Ysabel take Hwy 79 North toward Warner Springs for about 10 miles to Hwy S2. Take S2 (San Felipe Rd.) about 4 miles to Montezuma Valley Rd.. Continue on Montezuma Valley Rd (S22) through Borrego Springs, past Christmas Circle and head toward Salton City. Truckhaven is about 20-25 miles east of Borrego Springs on S22. It is north of S22 and west of Hwy 86.

Our starting point will be 1.2 miles east of the microwave tower on the north side of S22

From North San Diego County:

Take Hwy 76 east, past Lake Henshaw. Turn north of Hwy 79 about 4 miles to S2 (San Felipe Rd.) . Then take S2 about 4 miles to Montezuma Valley Rd. Continue on Montezuma Valley Rd (S22) through Borrego Springs, past Christmas Circle and head toward Salton City. Truckhaven is about 20 miles east of Borrego Springs. It is north of S22 and west of Hwy 86

Our starting point will be 1.2 miles east of the microwave tower on the north side of S22

The Microwave tower is huge and right next to the highway, there is another small tower leaving borrego springs... THIS IS NOT IT...

We will pick a CB channel (Usually 14/13/4 in that order...) More info to come.
