The new suspension I installed last weekend worked amazingly well and we were comfortable in the rig for the whole trip.

The only issue we ran into was a potential oil leak that turned out to be nothing but a careless mess. I took the truck in for a quick oil change Wednesday morning before we left and noticed oil dripping from the skid on Thursday. After crawling around trying to figure out what was wrong I discovered that the mechanic left the old filter sitting on the skid and it tipped over spilling out what oil was left in it. So other than the inconvenience of cleaning up his mess it turned out to nothing
Lucky for you, Kevin. I was expecting to hear they left the new filter loose, or stripped the drain plug. I gotta admit, that's a new one on me. Even I, (who has just about every stupid thing you can do on a motor vehicle) have never done that one.

Sure, just let me know when.

I checked the drain plug first and when that turned out to be ok I moved to the filter. I thought that maybe he left the old filter gasket on but there was no oil on the block below the filter. It was only when I looked down from above and saw a flash of "Fram orange" that I figured out what happened. And since it had been rolling around for 300+ miles it was lodged in pretty tight and a struggle to remove My cross-member and control arms are nice and shiny now though

Found a leaky coolant hose on the ZJ. Goes from top of water pump to bottom of intake manifold, guess for emissions reasons... $5 AZ part, all of 15 mins to re-assemble.

Guess I get to drive to work tomorrow for once

That would be the thermostat bypass hose.

Woot. Carpet gutted out. Seats out, e-brake handle out. Engine cranks over. Both rear brake drum spindle nuts off now. Been a good day! Floors pans have minor surface rust. Will prep and clean them, then probably spray some lizard skin.

Going to pull the brake hubs today. And then work on the brakes tomorrow after work and saturday morning, hoping there is no rain in the future.

Ive seen peoples post where a link has a title and when you click it your taken to that page. For example how could I make the title in the signature be all you see and when you click it your taken to my build thread?
