Now that I'm at a regular computer....

The main hoop:

Right and left side wrap around bars:

Saturday morning I'll get cut, notch and weld em in place. Then a splash of paint and it's off to the sliders that I FINALLY have the steel for!

I must say, I don't have MUCH experience running a bender and those that do can tell you those wrap around bars would NOT be fun to make. My buddy that owns the bender even laughed when I told him what I wanted to make.... HAHAHA, he who laughs last! Got them things done and there are damn near perfect mirrors of each other, I'm jazzed! Can't wait to put em on!

Yea, compound bends are fun aren't they?

I figured out it works better to start from the middle and work out.

It also helps to do a full 90* test bend and mark where the tube starts on the die before. That way you will always know how far from the mark your bend will be.

Yeah, it's all just a matter of doing what you can duplicate, THAT it the hard part! I just started at one end, and worked from there. The hard part was because of the down tube, the left and right pieces had to be installed in the die pulling different directions....

All in all, even my experienced buddy was impressed!

I'm sure you have heard me mention this...
I thought I had lost this picture but I cam across it in a box of stuff in the garage.
I survived being a passenger in this twin engine beer can when it hit the ground at 150 mph.
Several (37) broken bones, torn tissue, cuts and bruises, etc... Almost had my left leg amputated from the extent of the damage to it.
Pilot error, I was not the pilot. I do not fly airplanes because they are dangerous. I only fly helicopters. Much safer. Trust me.
This is the reason in the picture of my son's belt pic, that the Master on the left was once my student, and is now my Master. I had to take a really long break from Kung Fu and he passed me up. He was a green belt when this happened and I was a first degree black belt. Fate.

Tonight he earned his Brown Belt in Kung Fu San Soo. Not an easy feat as we only have four belts in this style. They are hard to get, and he has been working feverishly on his open hand forms and staff form. He nailed them to the floor tonight, and wowed the crowd with his intensity and focus.
I literally got a lump in my throat watching him perform.
One more belt and he is caught up with me. Yep, I'm proud. Thanks for reading...

Yeah that's my ugly mug on the right and Master Russell on the left...

You are all 3 very good men. It was nice chatting with Sean last Friday. Congrats to all of you.

Thanks. Yeah Sean is a great guy. He loves Matthew and spends a lot of extra private time teaching him really advanced stuff he isn't supposed to learn until Black Belt 2nd and 3rd degree stuff. Matt is like a dry sponge and want's to be a Master by 22yo. He did the math already. lol
We have a weapons seminar this weekend and he is better with the staff than 90% of the adults in the school. He's already better than me at it. But he practices all the time and I rarely do. I love the sound his staff makes as it swoops through the air on it's way to a strike.
Sorry... I started bragging again. I'm just really proud of him.

So.. What about those Jeeps eh?
Four wheel drive gear grinding rock crawling axle twisting terror machines... Yeah!

It's pouring down rain now. It's been kind of drizzling most of the day, but the skies have opened up!
I'm glad, Everything gets watered without me, the solar panels get washed, driveway gets hosed down, ceramic roof tiles get cleaned, motor home gets a bath, negative Ions in the air (that's the good ones), clean fresh air....
So much positive!
I'm OK with a couple days of this. Just a couple tho'.

How can I forget the marathon Rough Country lift we did on your YJ?

Hope to see you while you are here. I'm still at the same place.

Rik, I didn't realize you flew with the Wright brothers. That must have been so cool. Seriously though, glad you made it through even though you've got some scars, aches, pains and lumps to show for it.
