I also have a craftsman inch/pounds.

yes. just a measurement difference. 12" in/lb = 1 ft/lb. a big torque wrench that goes up to 150-200 ft/lb is not very accurate at 5 ft/lb.
doing it by feel is just about as good and there are all sorts of opinions about whether or not to use rtv. personally I like it but valve covers and oils pans ALWAYS need to be re-tightened.
I hate a messy engine.
both my wrenches are by the front door, if you need them.

i believe it gets torqued to 85 in/lbs or roughly 7 ft/lbs. but i would just do it by feel, ive heard the recommended tightness isnt enough

That jeep is going up for sale.. soon... I think 1500 will take it...
1990 YJ 258 D35/30 Automatic
Good...
New Carb
New Distributer
New Computer
New Top
New Hood
New Windshield
New Windshield Frame
Used front fenders
Used front grill
Near New Tires BFG AT 31"
Front leafs replaced
Sway bars removed
35k on rebuilt engine
2k on rebuilt Transmission
Bad
Was rolled (But no impact... frame is good) (Parts effected were replaced)
Paint Half Olive drab half white
No front driveshaft
Transfer case has an extra spring in it to prevent shifting without driveshaft.
Fluid leak under transfer case somewhere...Drives fine haven't spent the time to investigate.
Still some body damage to repair... Slight...
Needs roll over sensor replaced.
Needs new headlight surrounds.
Needs char canister
Thats about what I can remember.
Spent more the 1500 in new parts lately... just have 5 jeeps right now and no use for this one. (Daughter doesn't want it)

That's North Jersey.
I'll party it up. I hope Cali Jeep guys aren't white trash as the Jersey ones.
