I still can't imagine paying $195 to follow a bunch of folks who would be horrified at the thought of scraping their toy against a rock. I was sorta curious because this is the first one I've seen in this area. Maybe I'll go out that weekend and hang out and watch, that might be fun. Maybe meet them head-on on the trail, really confuse them.

So, anybody going out this weekend???
Im pretty sure they close down the land just for the jamboree, so if you wanted to go offroading yourself, too bad you have to be with the jamboree. Atleast thats how its worked for some jamborees.

Superstition was great! Got there before sunrise. The sand was virgin fresh as no one was out there but us. Great time riding, need to check out Gordon's or Buttercup next.

Driving south down 125 freeway today and came across a really nice looking lifted black Grand Cherokee with a big 'ol "www.jeepforum.com" sticker on the back window. We did the Jeep wave, woohoo. Poor folks, they're probably wondering who those fools were in that Jeep waving all crazy at them at 75mph side-by-side

I don't have a jeepforum decal, I want one

If mine ever gets here I'm thinking about getting some decal letters and putting my screen name under it, let the other JF'ers know who that deranged lunatic is that's waving like an iraqi soldier surrendering while driving down the freeway

Jeff, any idea how much a 6cyl engine and ax15 tranny would cost from a junkyard up there?

Yup, that was me, showing my mom around town. No 4 wheeling done but a nice 5 hour ride. Today took her up to Mt Laguna. Nice views from up there.

Switch,

You could probably get a running 4.0 for 400.. That ax15 would set you back about 200...

Keep an eye on the for sale section... or recycler for LA... they are there all the time.

Don't forget the wiring harness..

Friday is a maybe, 3:30 might be kinda early, might make 4:30 or so.

Thursday is a probably if no one else is available, have to check a couple of schedule things. Do you have a place to do the work? What time do want to start? Early is better for me. Nothing more fun than changing an exhaust gasket, eh?

How's that for non-committal?

And hey, anybody going to Cal4WD's Operation Desert Fun benefit for Calif Paralyzed Vets next month, October 12-13 at Ocotillo Wells? I'm planning on registering this week and making my way out. Planning on going Friday evening, staying until Saturday night, possibly staying over or coming back to make the Miramar Air Show on Sunday. Taking the RV and I've got plenty of camping gear if anyone else is interested and in need.

I just got a screamin' deal on a front lunchbox locker, but the only problem is its missing one of the 8 yellow springs for it, does any one have one laying around? Figured I'd check local before I called powertrax.

Thanks,
Jason
