Broken adjuster cable in the passenger side drum of the Dana35. :/ If it ain't one thing, its another! Wrenching party soon? I need to get this fricken' 8.8 installed.

On a side not, I'm looking for either a LP or HP30 to swap into the front of the TJ. Need one with 3.73 gears to match the 8.8. Have stuff to trade, maybe buy depending on how much.

Those brakes aren't crappy your set up is just to bad A55 . I forgot to give you the air fitting that goes onto the housing for the ARB line if you still want it. Not a biggie to get a new one but its here/it's free.. Whats up w/your buddy wanting that 4.56 pinion gear for the ring gear you have from me?

Re-analyze what I asked. I asked if I should invest in a 4:1 kit for the NP231, I didn't ask if I should keep the 231 or go with something else.

Stay ontopic and stop mis-quoting me.

ok , let me give ya the readers digest version. NO. I apologize for running off on a tangent. I guess the point was: If you stick w/the 231 dont throw to much money at it. ie the tera low... For the money saved its 1/2 way to a much stronger unit. Thats all i was getting at..

I agree there are better options for a Tcase but I think a 231 is fine unless you like to abuse it in how you drive. I have one behind my 5.9 which sounds crazy but with only 40 HP more then the 4.0 I don't worry all that much. As for sinking a but load of money into one I would upgrade before I did that. Dodge Ram 2500 came factory with a 241 which is what I have for mine if I ever get around to swapping out the input shaft and they are both 23 spline and interchange.

Somewhere right around 220-240 HP depending on where you get your info. It's really not that much greater but it is stil a V8 and sounds cool. I did it because I had the donor vehicle and wanted fuel injection.

I'm not building for all out speed. I've got it and unless I can fetch a pretty good chunk of change for it, I might as well use it. A 241 can always come later down the line.

And I don't have a lead foot

Wow, this is a trip. I was building a 4.0 into a 4.6 stroker at 288 hp but gave it up because i realized after i had the whole thing put together that i didnt deck the block to zero and it would kill the quench. sold it for what it was worth and didnt lose much but now i'm considering doing it again. I wanted a 5.9 but those numbers seem discouraging for all the work and money. Are post 97 motors any different in result at the wheel? And at the 9:1 CR are you using a higher than 87 octane? My stroker was blueprinted to be at 8:8 , stock cam, cj 258 12 wt crank ,

Still searching. Seems each axle I do see that's close to what I want, the CL poster is a complete flake & does not respond.

EG: I found a FF 14B in Mennifee, called and left messages with the knucklehead 3 times and texted twice. No response, even after he reposted the ad twice. This has happened 3 times so far.

Probably should have snatched up that D70 HD that was for sale in Jamul.
