I can't see that causing any problems, unless it's cracked elsewhere and worse.

You can always get a new part from the junkyard. Plenty of NP231 there.

PS, I forgot about the snap ring pliers but I guess you don't need them now.

One screw down from that chip looks like a crack as well, could be a scratch but from the picture looks like a crack.

As an FYI, it might have been bad luck, but orange RTV that has the copper in it (MSD http://www.permatex.com/documents/ms...lish/81878.pdf) Did not hold up well to synthetic gear oil. It claims to work on differential covers but when I had used it on a manual transmission and transfer case and it leaked out of ever cover I used to seal it with.

Pull the oil pump back
out and check the housing on both sides if it's all good, reuse it

I didn't see that second crack earlier. Since it's the oil pump, and not a rotating mass, the only real issue is does it pump oil without leaking. After thinking about it I would probably replace it if there are any other signs of damage that might prevent it from turning inside properly.

you would be surprised how many groceries it takes to make a 12 day wheeling trip happen... I couldn't have done it with a barbie jeep, thats for sure.
