Any one else interested? Short notice trip. Camp will be on the left side of wheeler about 5 or so miles past the park entrance sign.
There is another group also going out from sdjeepin.com; they will be camped a little closer to the entrance according to their website.

Last time I was out there (Superstition) I took my Jeep up that trail at night, its not as scary that way since you cant see the cliffs on both sides!!

At Superstition, so far it sucks, already broke, only reasonable thing to do now is eat and drink. Lots of Jeeps out here already, stopped and chatted with a big group from Chuckawalla Valley Jeep Club. Windy, but should be a fun weekend

Sdmoose - I'd be up for a LW on either Sat or Sun late morning or early afternoon. Gotta watch my son at his dive meet sat morning, but then I want to hit a trail.

Joe and I mocked the skid up. looks like everything fits. may need a bit of massaging here and there, but should be nice.
looking at about 19" of clearance all around with 17" under the lowest part of the T-case.
planning on getting the rest of it fabbed up and it mounted on there next weekend.

Looks like it fits pretty decent, I'm sure with the jack putting some pressure on those bends and a hammer you can form them to the body pretty easily. How far off was I? Transfer case drop work out ok?

the T-case drop out was perfect.
the 10* bend on the sides was a little bit too much, but I think we are just going to drive a jeep over it to flatten it out a tiny bit.

Hopefully it works out, if for some reason it doesn't I have access to more 1/4" material, its a bit harder being HY80 and HY100 but I could make another one.

Are you going to brace the trailing edge of the skid? Looks like it could get peeled back if you need to back up in the rocks.

Anybody got an XJ for sale???
I've got a buddies son who's looking for his first Jeep. He wants a '97-'01 XJ in stock or slightly modified condition. He's been looking all over the southwest and when they pop up they go fast. Thanks!
