Yep Steve is right. From what I've read these 285s will give me almost 1.5" on tire size. I'm not sold on any particular set of rims yet. My only criteria is Aluminum. Less rotational mass.

now if some coilovers happened to fall off a truck things would be different
doing that complicated steering set up you were telling me about a few weeks ago? ha

yep, except I just put that on hold because:

my transfercase started Chattering inside... so I have to take it apart and see what the hell is wrong with it.

I'm hoping nothing serious, maybe just a stretched chain or a gear that is not seated correctly....

I needed this like I need a hole in the head...

What wheels are on the truck now, and what is their fate?

I have factory alloys on mine but but I need something with a bit more offset..

Factory steel with chrome plate. I'm planning on craigslist. Like I said, all I'm really looking for is less rotational mass. So the factory alloys aren't out of the question.

What is your bolt pattern? 6.5" or 170mm ? I don't know what year they changed it.

My understanding is that Ford went to the 170mm on the '97-'98 year models, so, I have the 170mm

Total is $1,721.62 after mount / balance / shipping. Summit did not have any rims I particularly liked.

Like said above you can have discount BEAT that price...I fnally broke down and got some new wheels and tires from Discount after hours of searching and pricing and discount still came in less..

I got a full set of (5) Aluminum alloy MB Razor 15 x 8" wheels and (5) BFG KM2 M/T 33/12.5R15 for less than $1400 otd..I thought it was a good deal, I got the tires for $190 each and got 2 free rims..after workin the salesman.

you know the thought did cross my mind...

however I couldn't get the 242 to fit with the trans tuck I did....

I did notice that after driving for a little while ~20 min, my t-case gets extremely hot, almost to hot to touch.

is this normal? or is my case overheating.

the fluid level is normal, I have done some reading and it says that they do get quite hot.

I'm going to go drive the parents stocker around and feel it, see if it feels the same/similar.
