Yeah true... I think I'll probably get something cheaper like the 2900 for the CJ and stick the 8800 in the truck. That 2900 is a beast by the way, 75 watts with no fan.

I've done the two day overnighter Lower Kern twice. We had a blast both times. The guides were great and the food was fantastic. My second time I took Richie (he was 11yo) and he never fell out.
I'd love to do that trip again.

BTW: as soon as I find my check book this is mine.....

Nice Jeep and only $105K, thought it was only 10K at first glance then I looked more closely and saw extra digits, I think for over $100K I would build my own....EEK!!!

Anyway are there any people who want to go run some trails this weekend at CC?? Just trying to take the Jeep out next weekend and was looking to see if anybody wants to go burn some gas! I have 31s and lockers front and rear so I think I can handle MOST of the trails out there.

Anybody?

Lets make it happen, even my wife wants to go, I am trying to figure out what I want to do to the Jeep next, I feel like making something, idle hands are the devils workshop, or in my case I just build stuff..

Maybe I will make a custom stinger or front bumper if I have the material laying around, or somethin...done with todays work, I had to build a custom bar that has provisions for 2 bicycles with the front fork clamps, a CB antenna whip mount and 2 light tabs for dust light and reverse lights, so its all about me at the moment.

I just know I want to go out in the trails this weekend..maybe if I have a chance I will take the 450 and play around on the single track out there this week, its been a while since I have ridden there (4 months!) I am hoping to race in a couple of WORCS races before the end of the season, need some seat time first...I dont want to finish lower than 10th place...but well see, what I want and what I get arent always the same...

Keep me posted if you want to get together. , I think it woould be fun

He let me help take apart the procomp lift I had in there. I learned a ton watching and listening to him. He also let me drive the test mule. That is an amazing ride. Hopefully I can pick it up on Friday. Giggity Gigigty!!!
Hey krughzn I live in Spring Valley, and would like to see your LJ when Blaine is done with it....

Maybe you can give me some tips after your LJ is all done...

Roberto,

PM me your phone number and I'll call you when I pick it up. Like I said, I hope it's on Friday. Maybe meet up somewhere on my way home.

I talked to Blaine today and keep adding things to the list. I may have to stop off on the way there and sell a kidney to pay for it all. Otherwise, it's going to be sic.

I'll be there Thursday night as usual. Will try to grab a spot on the west side of base camp but within staggering distance

Of course a lot of this is dependent on the Jeep having two axles under it

I think it's worth the trip for someone who has never been, a great place to get ideas and see what the current tech is, and of course check out the eye-candy

But for me it would have to be a lot better than the last two to make it worth the drive.

Last year the vendors just weren't there, the deals weren't deals, the whole thing was half as large as it was a few years ago. The best I could do was a few ARB -style switches and a tow-strap

But I did get a few Savvy t-shirts and hats from Gerald

Wow havent been to Pomona since I used to live there almost 30 years ago (I was born in Pomona, yuck!), but it would be cool to check out the expo..and see if the deals are there, I have also noticed that most of the big shows like that dont give deals like they once did, and thats what they were all about in my opinion, stupid economy!

Maybe one can get lucky and fins a deal on somethin, it just seems nobody is willing to budge much anymore, I guess everyone is hurting in the wallet or at least they act like it, hope its just a fad..

Ditto on this; I would not walk across the street for that show after going last year. There were no deals on anything other than cheap trinkets. I went with a pocket full of cash and found prices the same or higher than any number of online vendors and cranky salespeople who seemed to have no interest in selling anything and even if you wanted to buy, no stock there on site.

Where in Pomona? I was born there too. I lived in Westmont for my entire school days. Ganesha High.

I agree the last two years really sucked big time. But I'm hoping it was a wake-up call (optimist yes) for the vendors. They weren't making any deals and I went with a pocket full of cash too. I left with nothing but the memories of the eye candy. (and there is lots of that)
I'll go just for something to do and to drool over the $100K JKs they have. Last year there was virtually nothing for YJs, TJs, or CJs. It was like a JK show like the one 4WheelParts puts on.

Think positive guys!

I might be up for a run on Sunday or Monday. Any takers for Pancake Rock?
It's closer and only takes a half day.
